Senate Bill 373 could have unintended consequences that would result in costly litigation for public school corporations. Implementation of the release time credit provision would require every public school corporation to allow students to attend and get credit for any religious study of their choice. Religion belongs where it prospers best—with individuals, families and religious communities, not in public schools.
