Summary: We oppose infringement upon Hoosiers’ rights to religious freedom. SB 373 would require public schools to display a framed picture or poster with the motto, “In God We Trust”. This legislation is another attempt by government officials to promote religious ideals, beliefs, texts and prayers in our public schools. Our legislators should focus on the pressing issues in our state rather than dividing its residents along religious lines. This bill distracts school officials from fulfilling their core mission – ensuring that our children receive the top-notch education they deserve.
