SB 334 fails to correct the 2017 voter purge crosscheck law that two federal courts found violated voters’ rights. Like the 2017 law, SB 334 would allow county election boards to kick voters off the voter rolls without proper notice. Rather than using the problematic Crosscheck system which was found to be incredibly innacurate, this bill replaces it with plans to build an Indiana-run Crosscheck-like system.

Instead of searching for ways to skirt safeguards meant to protect voters, lawmakers should be putting their energy into giving more eligible Hoosiers access to the ballot box.
