This bill extends certain antidiscrimination and civil rights statutes to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, and ancestry. SB 119 would protect LGBTQ Hoosiers from discrimination in employment, housing, and public spaces by adding gender identity and sexual orientation to Indiana’s existing civil rights code.
