Oppose

This bill, which was originally focused on scanning ballots, was amended to cut early voting nearly in half — from 28 days to just 16 days.

We oppose this bill because it would make voting harder. It would disproportionately harm certain voters, such as those who live in urban areas where election day lines are longer and working Hoosiers who may have limited time off to vote.

At a time when voter turnout in Indiana is among the lowest in the nation, elected officials should be focused on increasing opportunities for voting, not taking them away.
