On September 24, we gathered with supporters, volunteers, partners, friends, and community members for Vote Together: A Dignity for All Block Party.
The evening brought people from across Indiana together to connect, hear from ACLU of Indiana’s incoming executive director, Nikkita Oliver, and new board president, Melinda Messineo, PhD, and get ready for the final stretch before the 2026 General Election.
Throughout the night, attendees checked their voter registration, learned more about what will appear on the ballot, connected with ACLU staff and partners, and found concrete ways to stay involved before and after Election Day.
We’re grateful to everyone who showed up, asked questions, shared conversations, and helped make the night feel both celebratory and focused on what comes next.

With November 3 getting closer, now is the time to make a plan, know what’s on your ballot, and stay engaged.
Get Ready for the 2026 General Election
- October 5: Voter registration closes | Check your registration here.
- October 6: Early voting begins
- October 22: Deadline to apply for an absentee ballot
- November 3: General Election Day – Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. | Absentee ballots must be received by your county election board by 6 p.m. (a postmark before then is not enough).
Learn What’s on the Ballot
Voters will shape representation at the local, state, and federal levels. On Indiana midterm ballots this year are:
- Secretary of State, Indiana Comptroller, and Indiana Treasurer
- All nine of Indiana’s U.S. House seats
- All 100 Indiana House seats
- 25 of the 50 Indiana Senate seats
- Local school district budget referendums
This year, Hoosiers will also vote on Public Question 1, a proposed constitutional amendment that would change when courts can deny bail before trial.
