Summary

Join the ACLU of Indiana, the Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library, and Indy Reads for the first discussion in our 2026 Banned Book Club, themed Dignity & Freedom to Read.

We’ll kick off the series with The Magic Fish by Trung Le Nguyen, a powerful graphic novel that explores identity, family, and the importance of being able to see ourselves reflected in stories. As efforts to censor books and restrict discussions of race, gender, and lived experience continue to grow, this book club creates space to read, reflect, and celebrate the freedom to access diverse voices and ideas.
