End ICE Detention: Statewide Weekend of Action

Summary

Join one of many locations in Indiana over the weekend of August 28-30 to call for an end to ICE Detention at the Miami Correctional Facility.

This coordinated protest features groups around the state holding rallies, educational events, prayer vigils and more.

At the Miami Correctional Facility, ICE detainees have reported medical neglect as well as abuse from guards. Two ICE detainees have died in the facility this year. The ACLU of Indiana has also filed two lawsuits over medical neglect and mistreatment of an ICE detainee at the facility.

Looking to get involved before the weekend?

Congressman André D. Carson, the ACLU of Indiana, and The Indiana Organizing Project will be hosting a webinar report to the community at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27.

Additionally, a prayer vigil is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the facility.
