INDIANAPOLIS — The ACLU of Indiana sent an open letter today to public school administrators, principals and board members, in anticipation of Wednesday’s National School Walkout. Evoking the student-led protest movements of the past, the letter urges school leaders to respect students’ First Amendment rights, foster discussion among students with different views, and use the opportunity to educate students about the value of civic engagement and activism.
