Join Sinntertainment for the fifth annual America F*ck Yeah, Muncie’s high-energy variety show celebrating the good, the bad, and the ugly of America. This 18+ performance will feature more than 20 artists bringing burlesque, drag, aerial, belly dance, comedy, and more to the stage for one unforgettable night. The ACLU of Indiana is proud to be the beneficiary of this year’s show. Proceeds from the event will support our work defending civil rights and civil liberties across the state. ACLU of Indiana staff will also be on-site tabling, sharing resources, and connecting with attendees.

Trans Sports Webinar

Webinar: What Does the Supreme Court's Trans Sports Ruling Mean for Indiana?

The ACLU of Indiana will host a virtual briefing on the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox, and what the decision means for transgender students, schools, and civil rights protections here in Indiana. Legal Director Ken Falk and Advocacy Manager Danielle Drake will discuss the ruling, Indiana’s existing ban on transgender girls participating in girls’ school sports, and what questions remain for students, families, schools, and advocates.

Free CLE: An Updated Look at § 1983 Litigation

42 U.S.C. § 1983 is the statute that allows citizens to enforce the United States Constitution and certain federal laws when they are violated by state and local actors. But its application is full of thorny issues, including the forms of relief available, state immunity conferred by the 11th Amendment, the currently hotly debated issue of qualified immunity, which federal statutes are enforceable through § 1983, municipal liability, attorneys’ fees questions, ethical concerns, and other issues. This seminar explores all of these issues, including the most recent pronouncements from the United States Supreme Court, and is designed to give the practitioner a detailed and current overview of § 1983 litigation. The six-hour seminar also includes one hour of ethics credit.
