This is an incredibly broad bill that does not properly balance its goals against the privacy rights of minors.

The Constitution guarantees Americans the freedom to practice whatever religion they see fit and protects Americans’ right to be free from religion. Requiring that the Ten Commandments be posted in public schools violates both of these principles.

This bill would require every local and state law enforcement officer in Indiana to inappropriately stand in for federal immigration officers.

Every terminally ill individual should have the liberty to choose how they spend their final days and face death. We support this bill because it upholds the fundamental right of individuals to make deeply personal decisions about both life and death.

These bills would remove the barrier for students who attended high school in Indiana from paying in-state tuition at the state’s public colleges and universities simply because they are undocumented.

This bill would replace death sentences for individuals with life in prison without parole.

This bill allows certain convicted persons who have a chronic medical condition or are terminally ill or gravely disabled to file a petition for sentence modification, without the consent of the prosecuting attorney.

In Indiana, Black Hoosiers are more than 3.5 times more likely than their white neighbors to be arrested for marijuana possession. The Indiana General Assembly should pass marijuana legalization bills and prioritize racial justice and equity in reform efforts.
