ACLU of Indiana v. Sheriff, Huntington County

The Huntington Sheriff refused to allow ACLU of Indiana attorneys to have confidential in-person visits with prisoners who have sought our services. The ACLU of Indiana has received letters from people incarcerated in the Huntington County Jail who are seeking legal assistance.

This is a case challenging the conditions at the Marshall County Jail. 

The Marshall County Jail is overcrowded and understaffed, resulting in safety concerns and dangerous conditions, violating the Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States
Constitution.

The Gibson County Jail is overcrowded and understaffed, and as a result it is a place where violence between prisoners is common and dangerous conditions prevail. This case challenges the conditions of confinement at the Gibson County Jail.
