At the request of the District Court, ACLU of Indiana accepted appointment in May 2016 to represent the plaintiff in this case who has numerous complaints concerning medical treatment issues. As required under Indiana law, the medical malpractice claims have been submitted to a panel of doctors appointed by the Indiana Department of Insurance (IDOI), and the plaintiff has filed its initial submission. Responsive submissions will be made in the coming months. The federal case has been stayed pending a decision by the IDOI.
