This March 2016 case is a challenge to the policy of the Housing Authority of East Chicago of conducting warrantless searches and inspections of tenants’ apartments without cause or consent, including some searches that are clearly for criminal investigatory purposes. A preliminary injunction was issued in plaintiff’s favor and the case is proceeding to summary judgment.
