Indiana's Elimination of Period Product Tax Overdue
Period products are a necessity, but are still subject to Indiana's sales tax because they are considered a “luxury” product. 26 other states have already eliminated the period tax, it's time for Indiana to join them.
Repeal of the Death Penalty (HB 1030)
This bill would replace death sentences for individuals with life in prison without parole.
Compassionate Release (SB 117)
This bill allows certain convicted persons who have a chronic medical condition or are terminally ill or gravely disabled to file a petition for sentence modification, without the consent of the prosecuting attorney.
Cannabis Regulation, Decriminalization (various)
In Indiana, Black Hoosiers are more than 3.5 times more likely than their white neighbors to be arrested for marijuana possession. The Indiana General Assembly should pass marijuana legalization bills and prioritize racial justice and equity in reform efforts.
Resident Tuition Rate (HB 1071/SB 168)
These bills would remove the barrier for students who attended high school in Indiana from paying in-state tuition at the state’s public colleges and universities simply because they are undocumented.
