Originally HB 1079 would have legalized the sale of craft hemp flower to consumers and introduce regulations for selling the product. The bill was amended on the House floor and any reference to the legalization of craft hemp flower was stripped from the bill. Now this legislation only adds a regulatory framework for low thc hemp extract products already being sold in the state:
- Restricts sale of popular hemp products to 21 & over (Delta 8 & 9 included)
- Bans marketing to minors
- Requires age verification for websites
- Defines work in progress hemp extract
- Allow properly licensed processors to transport work in progress hemp extract
